Obituary of John Archibald Foulds

John passed away on December 23, 2024 with his family by his side after a short but hard fought battle with melanoma.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Barbara, and his three children, Emily (Michael), Carolyn and Graham. Cherished Grandpa of Jackson, Quinn and Matthew, he is survived by his brother, Peter (Maureen) and his nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents, Helen and Kenneth Foulds and his brother Michael (Salme).

Growing up, John spent summers exploring, hiking, and adventuring on the waters and rocks of Go Home Bay. He shared this love of the outdoors with his family, instilling in us all a deep connection to nature.

John and Barbara purchased a cottage at Cape John, Nova Scotia in 1978. They spent many memorable summers as a family sailing, swimming and enjoying campfires by the ocean.

John lived and worked in Ottawa for over 40 years before retiring to Sackville New Brunswick, he will be dearly missed by his close family friends and former colleagues. 

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Georges Dumont Hospital in Moncton, specifically Dr. St Hillaire, Joanne and the wonderful nurses in the ICU and in the oncology unit for their kindness and compassion.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Sackville (506) 364-8188. A celebration of life will be held at 1:30PM, January 18th at NCC River House in Ottawa.
