Obituary of Keith Reid Miller

We are saddened to announce the passing of Keith Reid Miller on December 4, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Keith was the third child of the late Sarah Elizabeth (Allen) Miller and the late Malcolm Reid Miller, born August 12, 1962 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Keith grew up in the small fishing village of Port Maitland and then moved to Richmond Road.

After completing high school in 1980, he went to Bethany Bible College in Sussex, NB, where he met his wife, Laurie in the third year. They were married after Keith’s fourth year on May 26, 1984. Keith took the position of Pastor for one year at Westchester Wesleyan Church, where he learned that he was a better servant than a leader. Keith and Laurie moved to Amherst, NS in the summer of 1985.

Keith held many jobs over the years: gas attendant, car, coffee and pool table salesman, parts person, and sub-contractor for Canada Post. One of his most fulfilling jobs was working for Campbell’s Funeral Home in Sackville and Amherst. Keith was very active in the church and held many positions in Port Maitland, Westchester, Sussex and Amherst Wesleyan Church before moving to Sackville and joining Main Street Baptist in 1991.

Keith leaves behind his wife, Laurie and two siblings, James, and John (Jocelyne), two nieces and a nephew, plus Laurie’s family in the United States. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Mary Ellen.

Keith’s remains are entrusted to his friends at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB where visitation will take place from 2-4pm on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Keith’s funeral will be on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from the Main Street Baptist Church at 2 pm, with Pastor Andrew Swanson officiating.

Donations in Keith’s memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Main Street Baptist Church or to a charity of your choice. On-line condolences and sharing of memories may be forwarded to the family through our website www.campbellsfuneralhome.com or by visiting the funeral home Facebook page.

Keith wanted to thank all of those who supported and helped him through this journey, especially Dr. McCrossin, Dr. O’Brien, the Oncology Clinic, all the doctors, nurses, and other medical staff at the Moncton Hospital and Sackville Memorial Hospital. Keith also wished to thank his Christian family at the Main Street Baptist Church for going above and beyond to support he and Laurie.
