Obituary of Patricia Sue (Weary) Dixon
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pat Dixon on Saturday, November 18, 2023. Pat passed away peacefully at her home in Sackville.
Pat was born on August 24, 1936 in Ottawa, Ontario and for the next 87 years, she lived her life as fully as she could and she never looked back with any regrets. She had a nick name, “practical Patty” and she earned it. If you had a problem, you could always ask her for her opinion and she would give you a solution and she would always be right! Pat had many gifts like that, and a lot of people would seek advice from her.
Pat studied nursing in Windsor, Ontario and then went on to Ottawa University for a nursing certificate course and from then on, she worked in pediatric nursing as an instructor and head nurse. Later in life she was a VON Nurse in Sackville, NB.
Pat and Ray were married on November 9, 1963 and they had 60 wonderful years together. Most people take in stray animals, but Pat took in stray children, calling them our pseudo children. Pat will be lovingly remembered by all those who knew and loved her.
Pat will be greatly missed by her husband of 60 years, Ray Dixon; her son, Duncan (Heather) and grandchildren, Eli and Tate; her son, Charlie (Kyla) and grandchildren, Kaeden, Chloe and Kelsi; her brother, David; her sisters, Barbara (Georges), Donna and Nancy (Bill), as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her sisters, Hope and Gail (Bill).
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. A memorial service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 2 pm with Rev. Carolyn Rushton officiating. A reception will follow the service, and all are invited to attend.
If so desired, donations in memory of Pat may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
On-line condolences and sharing of memories may be forwarded to the family through our website www.campbellsfuneralhome.com or by visiting the funeral home Facebook page.
