Patty was a wonderful person. New to Sackville, we began by lifting our house on i-beams and putting in a full basement. Two days into the project, Patty came up to me, handed me her house keys and said there were clean sheets on the bed - she and Ray were leaving for the cottage and we were welcome to stay in their house! The best neighbours we have ever had. Our deepest sympathies to Ray and the family - hold your good memories close to help you as you journey forward. Michael and Donna Capper

My sincerest condolences to Ray and the family on your loss of your beloved Patricia.
In the few years we spent together as fellow fine arts student, she opened her heart & home to me in friendship. I'm grateful for that time she was truly an amazing woman, generous of heart with all who crossed her path. Knowing how much she'll be missed my heart goes out to all in her circle of family and friends.
Blessings to all in your healing

Dear Ray and family. I was so sorry to hear of Pat’s passing today. I can remember her coming to our home when she was with the VON, and looking after both my Mom and Dad (Joan &Charlie Fraser) and they would always enjoy her visit chatting about the animals etc. She was a wonderful lady and also a great artist. My all your wonderful memories help you through the days ahead.

Pat,
Thank you for some of the most beautiful memories of my life. I will cherish the time we spent together forever. From as far back as I can remember as a child, all the way up to the last time we got together when I had a family of my own. Visiting you and Ray at the cottage, or anywhere for that matter, was always so special.
Our thoughts are with you and yours Ray. We love you.

Sending love to Ray, Duncan and Chuck, I have many good memories of Pat's way of trying to get me to understand the meaning of "Once I thought I was wrong but I was mistaken" which was written just above the kitchen table where we had mini-sips, Kraft-dinner that she instructed us in how to make. I remember her offering us the rejected gum from that candy factory that she worked at. It tasted so much better in that fresh form. Of course her playing the clarinet and letting us play Tunnels of Doom on her Texas Instruments computer. She had such a direct and practical way of being. Always with a deep kindness. Love from Joel and Millers just up on Milner Ave.

My heart goes out to Ray and his family. Pat was an amazing person, portraying what a human being should be. She was so brave with all that she has been through. Such a great sense of humour. Always happy and had no bones about telling you straight up how things are. One of my favourite memories is Pat & Ray coming over to Mom & Dad's before Christmas and showing them what that years concoction was to guess that years Christmas song. We would spend hours trying to figure it out! Thank You for being such good friends and neighbours to my Mom and Dad. You will be so missed. Sending lots of love and hugs from Lou Rawlins

Dear Ray and family, A sad day for all of us in the Rawlins family. We will really miss Pat, especially her dry wit and warm-hearted laughter. She was a one-of-a-kind lady for sure! Thinking of you, with sympathy, and lots of hugs and love, Donna and Danny, Ocean, Lou, and Rob and Cathy Rawlins and of course, the matriarch of us all, Jean Rawlins. Jean, especially will miss a very dear friend and cohort in positive thinking and pranks.

Auntie Patty is a one in a Million person. She had the ability to talk to anyone at any age and make them feel important. When my children were young (8 &9), she taught them to play Zelda and she was crowned ‘the coolest Great Aunt, ever’! When she was sitting, it was always with her legs crossed underneath her. I can see her so plainly, sitting on the floor of the cottage, playing Zelda! She will be missed by so many people, as she touched so many people in her ever caring way. I never had her as a nurse, but I can imagine she was an amazing nurse. Forever in our memories.
