Obituary of Helen Joan (Kent) Perkins
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Joan (Kent) Perkins on Monday, December 19, 2022 at the age of 82. Joan passed away at The Moncton Hospital surrounded by her loving family and special friends, Barry and Sherry Dean.
Born on May 11, 1940 in Hatley, QC, she was the daughter of the late John Neil Kent and Gratia Louise (MacDougall) Kent.
Joan worked at the Westford Nursing Home for 10 years.
Joan was a sweet and kind woman, friend, mother and wife. She loved playing cards and games of all types and especially enjoyed playing games on her tablet. No matter who came through the door, whether it was the Legere boys (Terry, Todd or Tim) or the Trenholm boys (Jeremy and Ernie) Joan was always there to make sure they had enough to eat. She also was a great knitter and provided the PEDVAG in Port Elgin with children’s mittens.
Joan will be greatly missed by her husband of 4 days shy of 62 years, Garth Perkins; her children, Brenda (John) Cromwell, Kim (Gordon) Dean, Sherry (Tony) Trenholm and James Perkins (Heather); her grandchildren, Brendan (Myrna), Dwight (Hilary), Kristan, Taylor (Lindsay), Alyssa (Maurice), Harlee (Nathaniel) and Hannah; her great-grandchildren, Chloe, Bowden and Kip. She will also be missed by her twin brother, Johnny and her younger brother, Richard and their families.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Helen’s wishes there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. Burial will take place at a later date in the Bayfield Cemetery.
