Dear Mary Jane and family: I was so sorry to hear about Doug. I have known you for many years, but only really met and connected with Doug in the past couple of summers through Vince at your cottages. Your friendships were very obvious and I always enjoyed the 'on deck' visits with you both at Walton's Beach. Mary Jane and family. We are so sorry for your loss. Doug was a wonderful friend and you and Doug have always been like family to Gerry and I and our girls at the cottage. We have so many good memories of Doug and we will cherish these forever. We will miss the good times, the laughter, the card games and get togethers. Since that first year, I recall so many great memories of our summers there...the card games, horseshoe competitions, road trips, washer tournaments, and fishermens dances. He was unfailingly friendly and kind, and his quiet sense of humour often brightened one’s day.
