Obituary of William "Bill" Roy Atkinson

It is with great sadness that the family of Bill Atkinson announces his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, September 3, 2021 at the age of 73.

Born in Saint John, NB on June 29, 1948, he was the son of the late Roy William Atkinson and Eleanor Kathleen (Patterson).

Bill was a resident at the Agape Home in Bloomfield, NB, where he resided with his sister, Carol. He was a crafty person who enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, coloring and recently he began to create with diamond art. Bill loved to go to yard sales, out to eat and he enjoyed plants.  He was often very quietly spoken unless he really had something to say. On the last visit he had with his cousin, Sharon, he gave her a big hug and a kiss on the cheek when she left, really the first time he had ever hugged her. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Carol Atkinson, as well as by many cousins and extended family.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place at the Sackville Cemetery on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 1 pm. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home for some light refreshments and sharing of memories.

If so desired, donations in memory of Bill may be made to the charity of one’s choice. On-line condolences and sharing of memories may be forwarded to the family through our website www.campbellsfuneralhome.com or by visiting the funeral home Facebook page.
