Margaret, and family. I just read about Louie’s passing today and wanted to pass along my deepest condolences. I met Louie when I came to Tantramar Regional High as a new teacher 20 years ago. I always enjoyed our chats, visits in the garage, and visits at Gary and Rosemary’s. You always knew where you stood with Louie, which is one of the things I respected so much about him. That, and his quick wit! He was a salt of the earth guy, and a good friend to me during my 4 years in Sackville. Rest easy, Louie.

I enjoyed the years I worked with Louie at Marshview. We had some good conversations and he often made me smile. In more recent years we chatted at the rink while watching TRHS hockey…he will be missed! May he Rest In Peace.

I know we all have to go at some point, but why do the good ones have to go so soon? I was shocked and shaken to hear Louis passed away this past Saturday. Whenever we came home, I so enjoyed hanging out with Louis and my cousin, Margaret. Watching different friends drive up to the garage every day. Every morning he’d bring a Timmy’s to everyone who drank coffee at the house and he’d make sure to bring me something since I wasn’t a coffee drinker. I’d browse around his garage, we’d have a chat in the back, showing me his walking sticks that he made, his jokes and expressions….I’m sure going to miss him whenever I come home. I know you’re shootin’ the breeze with someone, somewhere up there Louis. No more pain, you’re free now.

Out deepest condolences to you and your family Margie. My greatest memory was going in to garage to get eggs and no one there. A note on fridge gave me instructions and to you to leave money for however many cartons of eggs one took. I was shocked to see the note — and immediately I could sense warmth to be a part of this community. The few times I talked with Louis when I stopped by - he always made a person feel like you belong. A great person with a BIG heart. He will be missed in this community. RIP Louis

My best memory of Louie was when I first met him. I was at a dance at the Point de Bute hall when someone came over to me and told me that someone was outside in a.car and wanted to speak to me and. I went outside to see a man sitting in the back seat of a car and when I leaned in the the open window the man said to get inside that he wanted to meet me. I was apprehensive about getting into the car with someone that I didn’t know but he was persuasive and I got in. My first thoughts were that I might end up in the trunk of an old Plymouth in Jr. Phinney’s junk yard. Needless to say everything went smoothly and Louie and i became best friends. That was 57-58 years ago. Rest in Peace old friend.

I was very fortunate to reconnect with Louie a few years ago at another family members funeral. I had not spoke with Louie for many years. He was very warm and welcoming to my wife and I. He made us feel right at home. I wish I had got to know him better. He was a real gentlemen. My condolences to Margaret, Susan and Tim. As well to his many friends and surviving extended family members. He left a wonderful legacy in his children and grandchildren. May he rest in peace.
