Obituary of Elizabeth Ann (Howe) Snowdon
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Betty) Snowdon on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the age of 77. Elizabeth passed away at The Moncton Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 26, 1941 in Rockville, Kings County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Eloise (Gulliver) Howe.
Elizabeth had many interests, which were reflected in her work-life and activities. During her life-time, she was a school teacher, florist, employee at the Sackville Tourist Bureau and Sackville Library, and office manager for her husband’s business. She also took an active role in her community as a Brownie and Girl Guide leader, a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Cookville-Midgic Women’s Institute, a member of the Wood Point Baptist Church and a Charter member of the West Lane Baptist Church. One of her greatest sources of pride was running her hobby farm with her family, where she cared for many animals including her sheep.
Elizabeth was intelligent and creative, and enjoyed all forms of crafts; ceramics, knitting, rug hooking, quilting, and much more. She especially loved sharing this passion with others. She enjoyed spending time with family, going to yard sales, travelling to Europe, and going on the many antique auto excursions with her husband.
Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, William (Bill) of Wood Point; her daughters, Diane Morrison (Andrew) of Sackville, Christine Koch (Thomas) of Winchester, ON and Susan Snowdon (Yvan Turcotte) of St. Dominique, QC; her son, Peter (Claudia) of Maestricht, Netherlands; her brother, Donald (Lorenza) Howe of Miramichi; her grandchildren, Jade Harriott, Dru and Aaron Morrison, Andrea, Ian and Erich Koch, Sophia and Maya Turcotte, William, Vivian, Allison and Lucia Snowdon; her aunt, Ruth Gulliver; as well as by her many other family members and friends.
The family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and others at the Moncton City Hospital's Oncology Unit for the great care and kindness shown to her.
