Obituary of Norma Annie King
Confident in her faith and surrounded by the love of her family Norma A. King slipped gently into eternity on Wednesday January 11, 2017 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Norma went to be with her Lord, whom she trusted with unwavering strength. Norma was 93.
Born in Taunton, Massachusetts on June 17, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Russell R. Reid and Mary Helen (MacRae) Reid. Norma was very faithful to her church and an inspiration and encouragement to everyone who knew her. Norma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.
Norma was a faithful prayer warrior for her loving family, friends and her church, Wood Point Baptist Church, where she was a member for 63 years. She accepted the Lord in April of 1953. Norma always looked forward to the family Sunday night visits which have been a tradition for over 40 years. She adored her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren, who brought her so much joy and love.
Norma will be sadly missed, but forever loved by her son, Brian King; daughter, Marlene (Wilbur) Read; daughter-in-law Mary King; 4 grandchildren, Arienne King (Neil Thember), Melanie Read (Devon Partridge), Michael Rhodes (Janice Mah) and Kirk Read (Samantha Jones); 5 great-grandchildren, Adrianna Partridge, MacKenzie Read, Brody Read, Tessa Partridge and Bradley Thember; her brother-in-law, Elliott (Alice) King and several nieces and nephews.
Norma was predeceased by her devoted husband of 62 years, A. Adrian King; loving son Austin King and daughter Linda (Rhodes) Wheaton; sons-in-law, Charles Rhodes and Wayne Wheaton, as well as by her sister-in-law Sylvia (King) Ison, who was more like her sister.
The family would like to thank Dr. Long, Dr. Wall, Dr. Robichaud and the nurses of Brunswick Wing for the respectful, kind care that Norma was given.
