Obituary of Donald Roy Driscoll
It is with deep sadness that the family of Donald Roy Driscoll announces his passing on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the Moncton Hospital at the age of 85.
The youngest of six children, Don was born in Halifax, N.S. on July 16, 1931 to Evelyn (O’Brien) and George Frederick “Fred” Driscoll.
Don was employed at Mount Allison University until his retirement in 1990, as the Manager of Convocation Hall and Audio Visual Services. He was heavily involved with the United Church Maritime Conferences, enjoyed golfing and woodworking. Don loved his family, especially his late wife Lorraine and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Don will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Steven Driscoll and Gerry (Natalie) Driscoll; his daughters, Linda MacLeod (David McAllister) and Sandy (Todd) Greening; his twin brother, Doug (Francis) Driscoll; his seven grandchildren, Heather, Sherri, Caleb, Devin, Danielle, Lucas and Michael; his five great-grandchildren, Brooke, Andrew, Connor, Cohen and Carson; his daughter-in-law, Vara Driscoll as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Don was pre-deceased by his wife, Lorraine (Woods) Driscoll; his two sons, Ron Driscoll and Billy Driscoll; his daughter, Marion Driscoll as well as by four siblings.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 3 pm with Pastor Hal Lowther officiating. Visiting hours will take place on Wednesday from 1:30 pm until the time of the service at 3 pm. Burial will take place in the spring in the Sackville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Don may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
