Gordon Fearon

Obituary of Gordon James Fearon

Sackville, N.B.- It is with great sadness that the family of Gordon (Gordie) Fearon, announce his passing on April 6th, 2011 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Sackville on October 22, 1958, he was the loving son of Frank and Louise (Cadman) Fearon, the loving husband of Linda (Wheaton), the caring and devoted father of Tyler, Zachary and Rebecca, the much-loved brother of Harley (Lindsay, Ont.); Pamela (Shubenacadie N.S.) and Lois (Victoria, BC), the adored grandson of Erna Balser and the cherished son-in-law of Dianne and Floyd Wheaton. He will also be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and his brother and sister-in-law. Gordie’s greatest joys in life were spending time with family and friends, especially hosting family barbecues and casting his rod at his special fishing holes. His fun loving nature shone through in everything he did and his sense of humor gave strength to everyone around him as he fought his final battle. Gordie knew he was blessed to have a wonderful and caring physician, Dr. Graeme Stewart, who always went above and beyond the call of duty. He also appreciated the special care that he received from the doctors, nurses and staff at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, the Moncton Hospital and Oncology clinic, especially Dr. Mujoomdar. His family thanks them all. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9th at 2:00 pm at the Main Street Baptist Church, Sackville N.B. Following the service a reception will be held at the Church. Burial will take place at a later date in the Sackville Cemetery. If so desired, donations in Gordon’s memory may be made to a trust account set up for his minor children, Zachary and Rebecca, at Scotiabank or to the Relay for Life. Cash or cheques, made payable to Scotiabank, with reference noted on the cheque to “Fearon children’s trust fund”, may be left in care of Campbell’s Funeral Home.
