Obituary of Anne Pobihushka

Sackville, N.B. - Anne (Gadwich, Amos) Pobihushka, age 94, of Sackville, N.B. and formerly of Montreal, Quebec, passed away quietly on Sunday, June 12 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Born on December 3, 1916 in Montreal, Quebec, she was the daughter of Stefan and Mary Gadwich. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters Susan (David) Amos of Ottawa, Ontario and Wendy Amos-Binks (Tim) of Stanley, NB. She was blessed with grandchildren, Anne, Austin, Adam, Luke and Allen and great grandchildren Mack, Ellie and Abram. Anne was predeceased by her husband Austin Amos and husband Walter. Anne was a survivor who rose above a number of hardships to live a good and happy life. She was gracious and elegant to the very end. Many thanks and gratitude on behalf of the entire family to the wonderful Extramural staff, especially nurses Carol and Haidee, and Dr. Ross Thomas. We can not find words to adequately thank the home care givers: Bev Johnstone, Sheila Bulmer, Matilda Chapman, Christine Johnson, Sandra Hicks, Joan Alder, Dorothy Snowdon and Sandra Sears. Thanks also to Anne’s hairdressers, Colleen and Molly. Thanks to Erin and staff at Campbell’s Funeral Home. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (364-8188). Cremation will take place. On Anne’s request, there will be no visiting hours. A memorial service will take place on Friday, June 17 at 1:00 pm at Campbells Funeral Home. Burial will take place at the Sackville Cemetery. At the family’s request, no flower donations please. Donations in memory of Anne may be made to Tantramar Extramural or to the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
