Obituary of Marshall Graham Cole
It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Marshall Graham Cole of Dorchester, NB on December 11, 2024 at the Georges L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton, NB.
Marshall was born in British Settlement, NB on November 6,1939 to the late Graham Alston Cole and Maida M (Hicks) Cole. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Marcella; his son, Marshall Jr. and his brother, Hollis.
Marshall will be deeply and forever missed by his daughter, Marlene (Glen) Tibbet of Saint John, NB and his two grandsons, Alex (Clare) Kelly and Jacob (Sadie) Kelly of whom he was so proud. His daughter, Michele (Tony) Cole of Sydney, NS and her four children, including Kayla; his brother, Ross (Valerie) Cole of Jolicure, NB, as well as by his sister, Marcia (Brian) Bowser of Moncton, NB.
Marshall worked at NBTel with a career spanning 38 years until his retirement in 1999. He had many titles over the years, including network technician when he started with the phone company in Saint John, NB. When he later moved to Moncton, NB he worked in installation and repair and in later years as a cable repair dispatcher. Marshall loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years. He especially loved spending every summer in Murray Corner, NB with his family at their cottage. He enjoyed camping with many family trips to various destinations in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. He loved being on the water with his boat and had many wonderful times spent with his wife Marcella, daughter Marlene and grandchildren, Alex and Jacob, as well as with many friends.
Marshall could always be found outdoors, feeding the many birds and stray cats that he lovingly cared for, including Tuffy (passing in 2020) and GreyBoy who quickly became a part of his family. He liked puttering around in his sheds and mowing his lawn as outside was his happy place. Marshall was an avid computer lover and liked fixing them for others, being very good at it. He was a great musician, playing in a few bands throughout the years with people who would become his lifelong friends. He was a self-taught musician learning to play many instruments. He was also a DJ for many years with a touch for always knowing the exact song to play. Music was a large part of Marshall‘s life, one which he passed on to his grandson‘s Alex and Jacob.
A special thank you to Dr. Donald Robichaud and the Nursing staff at the Emergency Department in the George Dumont Hospital in Moncton, NB for their care and compassion.
