Obituary of Pat Estabrooks
Patricia (Angus) Estabrooks – Amherst, NS / Sackville, NB
Pat’s family announce her passing at the Drew Nursing Home on November 12, 2024 at the age of 97.
Pat attended school in Amherst, worked at the Canada Car and Watlings Clothing Store. She and Don married in 1948, moving to Sackville in 1950 where she was a stay-at-home mom to her two sons, Mitch and Mark.
In earlier years she was a member of Beauséjour IODE, the VON Board, Sackville Golf and Curling Clubs. She canvassed for a number of organizations and delivered Meals on Wheels. Pat also enjoyed playing bridge. Her greatest joy after her family was the cottage (1958) at Murray Corner, where she and Don spent six months of the year following his retirement in 1986 - 2012. The other six months (for 19 years), were spent at Gulf View Mobile Home Park, Largo, Florida where they both were very active.
Pat is survived by children, Mitch (Tish), Amherst and Murray Corner, Mark (Rhonda Elderkin), Sackville; grandchildren, Alana (Andrew) Robson, Cole Harbour, Trisha Estabrooks, Halifax, Natalie Estabrooks, Edmonton, Ryan Estabrooks (Darlene Shea) Riverview, Craig Estabrooks, Dieppe; step-grandchild, Lacey McFarlane, Port Elgin; great-grandchildren, John-Patrick (JP) Robson, Angus and Briana (Bree) Aylward, Caedyn Estabrooks; step-great-grandchildren, Keegan and Madison Robson, Maddison Wall, Mikayla Grant, Justin Collette (Becky Reid), Christine Collette (Alex Landry); step great-great-grandchildren, Paxton Collette, Peyton Collette, Mylah Landry; sister, Heather (the late Richard) Rhodes, Langford, BC; stepsisters, Jan (Charles) Shreve-McLeod, Sackville, NB and Sandy (Bill Twaites) Shreve, Pender Island, BC. Pat is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in NS and BC.
She was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Emma (O’Neal) Angus; her step mother, Ro Angus (April 21, 2019); her husband, Don (November 15, 2018); her daughter-in-law, Patty Estabrooks (September 18, 2003); her granddaughter, Jessica Estabrooks (August 23, 1996), as well as by her sisters, Joan (the late Ron) Dicks, Dartmouth and Audrey (the late Hilman) Payne, Langford, BC,.
A heartfelt thank you to the many staff members working various positions at The Drew. Pat loved so many of you and you each made her life more comfortable.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbel's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB, E4L 3P1, (506-364-8188). In keeping with Pat's wishes, cremation has taken place. A visitation and reception will be held at Campbell’s Funeral Home, on Sunday, November 24th, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 pm. Her ashes will be interred at Pioneer Cemetery, Murray Corner, N.B., at a later date. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Church, 1101 Route 955, Murray Corner, NB, E4M3G4, or charity of your choice.
