Obituary of David Wayne Sears

It is with deep sadness that the family of David Wayne Sears must announce his passing on Friday, September 13, 2024.  David passed away at the age of 71 at the Moncton Hospital with his family by his side.

Born on October 29, 1952, he was the son of the late Muriel (Phinney) and Victor Sears.

David was a hard worker and enjoyed trucking, driving and travelling. He loved the Dukes of Hazzard, drag racing and watching old movies. David was a social butterfly and enjoyed playing crib and being at his favorite place, the cottage. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

David will be lovingly remembered by his son, David Jr. (Cheryl) Sears; his daughter, Lisa (Brad) MacLeod; his grandchildren, Isabelle, Aaron and Jake; his sister, Leila Sears; his brothers, Victor (Deborah) Sears and Richard (Penny) Sears; his step-brother, Victor (June) Strang; his best friend and companion, Diesel, as well as by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Jimmy Sears, as well as by his step-father, Roy Strang.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. Visiting hours to celebrate David’s life will take place at Campbell’s Funeral Home on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 1-4 pm and all are invited to attend to spend some time and share memories.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of David may be made to the IWK Health Centre or to the charity of one’s choice.
