Obituary of Mary (Bulmer) Stokes
It is with deep sadness that the family of Mary Arlene (Bulmer) Stokes announces her passing on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the Drew Nursing Home in Sackville, NB. Mary passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the age of 89 years.
Born on November 4, 1934 in Sackville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frances Elizabeth (Tower) and Tupper Bulmer.
Mary was a volunteer for the Canadian Red Cross and Blood Services for over eighteen years and she was Provincial Grand Mistress of New Brunswick for True Blue Lodge. Mary was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and in earlier years was Leader of the group called “Young At Heart”. She greatly enjoyed being at the Drew Nursing Home in Sackville, loving all her caregivers there like they were her family. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her children, Michael (Karie) Stokes, Debbie (Keith) Bowser and Sue Stokes; her brother, Charlie (Shirlee) Bulmer; her grandchildren, Tracy Trenholm, Krista (Ron) Cluett and Tara (Taylor) Corporon; her great-grandchildren, Riley Murphy, Zoe Murphy, Payton Cluett, Cohen Cluett, Emery Corporon and Easton Corporon, as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, Mary was pre-deceased by her husband, Marven Amos Stokes on June 27, 1996; her brothers, Frank (Erma) Bulmer and Robert "Bob" (Doris) Bulmer, as well as by her granddaughter, Jenna Ceretti on June 27, 2018.
Mary’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Drew Nursing Home for the amazing care and love shown to their mom during her stay there.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. Visiting hours will take place at the funeral home on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 2 pm until the time of the funeral service at 3 pm. The funeral service will take place at 3 pm with Pastor Andrew Swanson officiating. The burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery.
