Obituary of Kimberly Ann (Haley) Simpson
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kimberly Ann (Haley) Simpson, on Monday, July 29th, 2024 at Cumberland Regional Hospital in Amherst, NS while surrounded by her loved ones.
Kim was born in Oshawa, Ontario on a chilly day in December of 1970 and she was the daughter of the late Charles Haley Jr and Myrna Ann (Carter).
Kimberly was a beacon of genuine kindness and care, whose warm heart touched everyone she met. Her quick wit and infectious laughter brought joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a special talent for baking, often sharing her delicious creations with family and friends, which became cherished moments of togetherness and love.
Her career at Vogue Optical was more than just a job; it was a place where she found a second family. Kimberly's coworkers became the friends that turned into family, creating bonds that extended far beyond the workplace.
Kimmie’s life was a testament to her boundless love and selflessness. She was always willing to go the extra mile for anyone in need, embodying the true spirit of compassion and generosity. Her love for her family and friends was unwavering, and she held each of them close to her heart.
She is survived by the love of her life, Bob Simpson, who was her steadfast companion and partner in all things. Kimberly is also survived by her brothers, Murray (Brenda) and Doug (Shelly), mother in law, Nancy Simpson; her chosen sister, Krista Gallant; her aunts, Donna Paul, Arlene Lines (Brian); her uncles, John Haley (Linda), Floyd Haley (Sharron); her nephews, Jordan Haley (Krystal), Zachary Haley (Danielle), Jeff Hogg (Cassidy), Elliott Forsyth, Dale Forsyth, Matthew McPhee, Tim McPhee, and Terry Little; her nieces, Lindsay Haley, Nicole Gaddess (David), Cherie Johnston, and Rachel Simpson; her special cousin Aeron McMaster will forever remember her love and guidance. She is also survived by her chosen nieces, Jessica (Gabrielle) and Emilie, and her chosen nephew, Riley Gallant; her special nieces, Penelope and Naomi Gaddess; her brothers-in-law, Raymond Simpson (Lauren), Wayne Simpson and Robert Forsyth; her sisters-in-law, Gloria Hogg (Bruce), Diane Bragg (Bruce), Maggie Champion, Bonnie McPhee (Vernon); as well as by several great nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends.
Kimberly's life was a beautiful journey of love, laughter, and kindness. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, a lasting testament to a life well-lived and a soul deeply cherished. Kim’s inspiring strength and resilience were evident throughout her life, especially during her courageous battle with cancer. Her unwavering positive spirit was a beacon of hope for all who knew her, demonstrating that even in the face of adversity, one can find the strength to persevere. Her ability to maintain optimism under pressure not only aided her in her personal fight but also inspired countless others to confront their own challenges with the same unwavering spirit. Kimmietooie’s legacy of courage and positivity will continue to inspire and uplift us all.
In addition to Kim’s parents, she was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Charles Sr. and Shirley Haley; maternal grandparents, Murray and Mona Carter; father-in-law, Raymond Simpson, brothers in law, Garry and Larry Simpson, sister-in-law Esther Forsyth; canine companion, Bear; as well as aunts, uncles and extended family.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and the staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. A celebration of Kimmie’s life will take place at the funeral home on Friday, August 2, 2024 with her family sharing memories at 2 PM followed by visiting hours until 4 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor the incredible woman she was.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to charity’s which were close to Kimberly's heart, the TRHS Lady Titans Hockey or to the ‘Cumberland Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit’, continuing her legacy of generosity and care. Donations can be made through Cumberland Health Care Foundation but please specify that your donation should go to palliative care in Kimmie's memory.
Kimmie’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to each person who touched her life, to every friend, relative and to each doctor, nurse, and hospital staff member who went above and beyond to ensure she was well taken care of. Your kindness will always be remembered.
Rest in peace, Kimmietouie. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved you.
