Obituary of Allen Gilbert Wall

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allen Gilbert Wall “Allie” on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Allie passed away at The Moncton Hospital at the age of 72, with his family by his side.

 

Born on July 28, 1951, in South Porcupine, Ontario, he was the son of the late Allen Wall and Alma (Alger) Wall.

 

Allie went to work in B.C. at the age of thirteen working in a sawmill as well as working for a number of years on the oil rigs in Alberta before coming back to New Brunswick. He worked at Domtar packaging and for many years at Mount Allison University. Allie worked on a surveying crew for the Province of N.B and retired after a number of years at South Shore Trading Company, driving trucks and buying eels. He worked until he was almost 70.

 

Allie was married for forty-nine years to Helen (Polley) Wall, They had two boys, Shannon (Stephanie) and Patrick (Brittany). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Mikayla, Maddison, Taylor, Riah, Braxton and Rayna; his brothers, Ellsworth (Wendy), John (Rhonda) and Roy, as well as by his special gals Lacey, Sarah and Brooke.

 

He was an amazing son, husband, father and grandfather who had a big heart and a great sense of humor. A friend to many, he will be missed. Until we meet again, Love Helen.

 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and the staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Allie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will take place at a later date in the Fernwood Cemetery, with details to be announced.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Allen’s honor to CARMA Amherst, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #81, Cape Tormentine, NB or to the charity of your choice.
