Obituary of Rachel Ann Mitton

It is with great sadness that the family of Rachel Ann Mitton announces her passing at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Saturday, May 25, 2024. Rachel passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the age of 52.

Born on February 18, 1972 in Amherst, NS, she was the daughter of the late John Mitton and Linda Lou (Milner).

Rachel always had a smile on her face, and she lit up a room whenever she was in it. She loved people and she was always interested to hear what was going on in your life and was always up for a conversation. Rachel enjoyed 4-wheeling, going for nice drives, feeding the birds and hummingbirds and going to bingo with Jamie. She enjoyed spending time with her nephews, great-nephews and great-niece and being at Cindy’s with the daycare children. Rachel’s family were her everything and she will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Rachel will be lovingly remembered by her spouse of 22 years, Randall Chapman; her sisters, Rhonda (James) and Cindy (Robert); her special aunts and uncles, Evelyn Baker, Ralph (Debbie Amos) Mitton and Lorraine (Donnie) Hicks; her nephews, James (Chandace) and Joshua (Kelsey Bradley); her great-niece, Ciena; her great-nephews, Ethan and Garet; her mother-in-law, Jeannita (Chapman) Cormier; her step-mother-in-law, Debbie Morice; her sisters-in-law, Angela and Sherry; her brothers-in-law, Darrell and Scott (Vicky); her special kitty, Jessie, as well as by many extended family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her maternal grandparents, John and Serena (Ward) Milner; her paternal grandparents, Ralph and Helen (Thompson) Mitton, as well as by her father-in-law, Ronald Chapman.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). In keeping with Rachel’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visiting hours to celebrate Rachel’s life will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 1-3 pm. The burial will follow in the Sackville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rachel may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
