Greg,Tim,Jess,Rebekka,
So sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. I’ll never forget the Welcome that I received and the well-portioned Home Cooked Meals that I shared with you while I was trapped in Residence ( and student budget life) at Mt A.
Your Mom was the anchor of a huge part of why those were among the best years of my life! Surely, she will be missed and that only validates how much she meant to you all!
I often look back on my meeting “ The Houtsma’s” and smile. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Sorry for your loss. I enjoyed working on Scouts Canada group committee with her .
Tim and Greg ,we shared a lot of years in the scouting program as youth and then assistant leaders with me.
Great memories and always looked forward to Xmas cards in the years that followed. Always inspired by parents like your mom that were so helpful running the program and your enthusiasm has encouraged me to continue in scouting myself ( 60 yes)

I had the pleasure of working with Anneke at Salem Elementary. She was a wonderful and supportive colleague. We went to the same church and she was our elder for several years, opening her home to us and sharing meals. Always a good listener and offering advice/wisdom at just the right time. We also became neighbours when we built our house on Sawdon Street. She will be missed. Rest in peace Anneke.

Anneke is among my many happy memories of my teaching days at Dorchester Consolidated School. Kindness and dedication to the children she taught, quiet and welcoming friendliness, shared bits of wisdom and a ready laugh or two are what I remember most. These qualities continued on any future chance encounter, including the last time a saw Anneke, when I chatted with her at a church service we were both attending at the Drew. Mike and I send our respect and sympathy to members of Anneke’s family and thank you for the lovely stories and details of her life which you have provided in her obituary. May she rest in peace.

Such a beautifully written account of a a life so well lived. Rebecca, Greg, Tim, Jessica and families, please accept our heartfelt condolences for the loss of your wonderful mom and beppe. Anneke was our neighbour by chance and our dear special friend by choice. Michelle also had the pleasure of working with Anneke at Salem Elementary for a few years, long before we moved in next door 17 years ago. She was a great neighbour and an amazing gardener, once telling us as we toured her backyard, “I grow big vegetables and I grow big weeds too and that’s okay!” We were also beneficiaries of those vegetables, preserves, meals and tasty desserts over the years. Anneke was a great storyteller and an even better listener. Always thoughtful, respectful and generous in sharing her wisdom , insights and advice. We will cherish so many fond memories of our time with Anneke. We loved her very much. Rest in peace Anneke. ❤️ Blaise and Michelle Dobbin

So sorry to hear of Anneke's passing. I thought of her just last week when I noticed my tulips emerging. I enjoyed teaching with Anneke at Dorchester School. We had great talks in the halls with all the "downstairs" teachers. She always had the children's best interests in mind to help them succeed. We had talks about kids, farming and growing vegetables. May you be comforted
by all the memories you have of a great lady. Rest in Peace, Anneke. Robert and Barb Wheaton

The rhubarb patch will never be the same . Kids loved getting rhubarb for you and I loved your jelly. I'm so thankful for our time together. We got each other. Your seafood chowder was delicious. Those 50% off deals made everything taste better lol. Great memories, I'll miss you.
