Obituary of Tuttle Shane Duguay
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tuttle Shane Duguay, the son of Ouida Duguay-Trenholm and the late Abel Duguay.
He lived an unforgettable life and he truly walked to the beat of his own drum. He lived life on his own terms and had many great friends who he loved like family and who loved him in return.
Tuttle was a self-taught craftsman who, as a young teenager built his first little home (which is still standing). He always sported his signature bandana and carpenter’s pencil. Tuttle left school and started helping his dad in the boat shop. He would spend many years repairing boats and soon discovered his love of renovations and building new homes. He was very proud of the work he did and we will continue to see him in the many places that he built or renovated, including in China and Germany. He was a true craftsman, a self-taught artist who paid great attention to detail.
The first day of fishing always held a special place in his heart. He enjoyed long days of fishing, and the trip back home at night after a successful day. He also enjoyed trips to the wharf to visit the fishermen and to hear their stories of the days catch.
We thank all of Tuttle's great friends and we loved hearing the many stories of how they played such an important role in his life, including through his cancer journey. To those who picked up his medication, visited at home, mowed his lawn, took him to his many appointments, as well as those who shared a seat on his bed when he was too weak to leave, enjoying chats, cleaning up and making sure that he had food to eat, we are forever grateful.
He is survived by his mother, Ouida Duguay-Trenholm; his children, Jessica, Allie and Marc; his grandchildren, Brody, Justice, Ryan and Kaysen; his siblings, Myles (Joan), Darren (Cindy), Rosalie (Barry), Tony (Lise), as well as by his nephew and nieces, Josee, Alexandre, Janelle, Andrea.
Tuttle was predeceased by his father, Abel Duguay.
May his future be free of pain and be full of beautiful sunrises, sunsets and warm gentle breezes.
Our sincere thanks to all of the wonderful doctors and health care workers at both the George Dumont and Sackville Hospitals.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and the staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188.
