Obituary of Linda Lou Haley-Trenholm
Heaven has gained another Angel, Linda Lou Haley-Trenholm, age 67, passed away following a brief illness on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Baie Verte NB on April 24, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Shirley (Harding) Haley.
She was a member of the St. Luke's Anglican Church in Baie Verte, NB and an LPN by trade, working in the medical field for 41 years. Always showing care and compassion as noticed by her peers in her nursing class, she was voted the most caring nurse by them on Graduation Day. She enjoyed advancing her medical knowledge by working at the Sackville Hospital, Dr Allison’s medical practice and she was the owner of the Countryside Residence Special Care Home until her retirement. She volunteered for many years as Driver/Attendant of the Port Elgin Ambulance Service when operated by the Village. Linda enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing her late father’s fiddle, hosting musical evenings in her garage, family functions and camping trips in the motorhome.
Survived by her second husband, Robert Trenholm of Port Elgin; her step-daughters, Roberta (Peter) Copp, Nerie Allen, Robynn (Don) Polley, Deanna (Chris) Fillmore and Leanne (Mike Allain) Trenholm; her brothers, John (Linda) Haley and Floyd (Sharon) Haley both of Oshawa, Ontario; her sister, Arlene (Brian) Lines of Baie Verte, NB; her sister-in-law, Barbara Haley of Sackville, NB and Doreen Haley of Alberta; her step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as by many nieces, nephews, cousins and her aunt, Phyllis Aube.
Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her son, David Murray Sprague; her siblings, Robert, Harold, Wilfred (Buddy), Edward, Margaret, Roger, Charles Jr, Frank, Shirley, Deborah, as well as by her brother in infancy.
Linda's family would like to thank the Oncology Team at the Dr. Sheldon Rubin Oncology Clinic in Moncton, Dr. Mark Walsh and his team at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, and family and friends who have been of assistance during her brief illness.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and the staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Linda’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Campbell’s Funeral Home with words being shared by Linda’s family at 1 pm which will be followed by visiting hours until 3 pm. Internment will take place in the spring in the Baie Verte Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Anglican Parish of Westmorland (St Luke's Building Fund), Canadian Cancer Society or charity of donor’s choice.
