Obituary of Lloyd Elwyn Tower
It is with deep sadness that the family of Lloyd Elwyn Tower announces his passing on October 21, 2023 at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville N.B. at the age of 85. He is now with His Lord, who he served so faithfully.
Beloved husband of Anne Marie (Ward), for 62 years. Loving father of David (Kathy) Tower, Sackville and Shelley (Todd) Estabrooks, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Caring Papa of Rebecca, Cassandra (Joel), Kyle (Kathleen), Kristen (Brad) and Josiah (Theresa). Cherished great-grandfather of 11 great-grandchildren. Also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his father, Lloyd Nelson Tower, his mother, Bertha Ardoine Tower and his brother Norvel Melbourne Tower.
Elwyn worked at Atlantic Wholesalers in Sackville for 36 years. He retired from Atlantic at the age of 55 and worked at a small part-time job in town to transition into his retirement. He was a great outdoorsman and loved hunting, roaming the woods, bird watching, hunting for rocks and just enjoying the creation around him. He loved music and tried his hand at playing the harmonica and playing the guitar- all self-taught. He served in many roles in the community for years, several being a devoted Cub leader, bus driver for youth group, Meals on Wheels and Barbershop Quartet member. As an active member at two churches in town with the most recent being Salem Baptist Church for almost 40 years, he served as Deacon and Treasurer. He was a mentor, loyal friend and encourager to many. He will be dearly missed!
Arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB. (506) 364-8188. A memorial visitation will be held at Salem Baptist Church, 234 Main St., Sackville on Tuesday, October 24th, 2023 from 1 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. followed by a service in the church auditorium.
