Obituary of Joan Isabel (Clark) Bembridge

Joan Isabel (Clark, Bembridge) Ovenden, 87, of Chartwell Bowmanville Creek, Bowmanville Ontario passed away peacefully on July 21,2023, at the Bowmanville Hospital with her daughter Sheryl, and husband John by her side.

Joan grew up in Wellington Ontario, born on June 19, 1936 to George and Amelia Clark. Joan will be dearly missed and always remembered by her family and friends.

Joan was predeceased by her son Mark Bembridge, as well as by her first husband, Merl Bembridge.

Joan is survived by her second husband, John Ovenden; her daughter, Sheryl Lirette (Wayne); her son, Jeff Bembridge (Val); her grandchildren, Scott Phinney (Mary), Adam Phinney (Katelyn), Julie Allen (Daniel), Duncan Bembridge; her six great-grandchildren, step-children, John Ovenden (Sandy), Pat Buma, Kenny Ovenden (Denise), Tim Ovenden (Charlotte) and Randy Ovenden (Fay), as well as by numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At Joan’s request there will be no traditional funeral services.

We would like to thank the nursing staff at the Bowmanville Hospital and Dr, Hierstram for the care and compassion of our Mum. Your kindness will never be forgotten. We would also like to thank the staff at the Chartwell Bowmanville Creek Retirement Residence for their kindness and welcoming atmosphere especially to Jane, Sally, hotstuff and Kennedy.

Joan's family will gather for a graveside service at the Westcock Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Joan may be made to the Bowmanville Hospital or charity of your choice.
