Obituary of Mildred Jean (Lee) Wry

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mildred Jean Wry, age 92, on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.

Born on April 4, 1931 in Cookville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Julia (Hicks) Lee and Albert Lee.

Mildred worked at Scotiabank for 40 plus years, until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, farming and spending time with all of her animals, big and small.

Mildred will be lovingly remembered by her children, Richard Wry, Barry Wry (Debbie) and Lisa Wry (Glen); her grandchildren, Stephanie Wry (Mitch Sprague), Nicholas Wry (Brooke Wells), Jessica Wry (Steve), Laura Leggett and Sara Allen; her great-grandchildren, Marissa Wry, Mason Wry, Skye Sprague and Gavin Leggett.

Besides her parents, Mildred was pre-deceased by her husband, Allen “Bud” Wry; her sister, Marjorie Lee, as well as by her brothers, Frank and Russel Lee.

The family would like to send their heartfelt appreciation to the Brunswick West staff of the SMH, to her Extra-Mural nurse, Carol and to family friend, Brooke Wells for the care and compassion given to Mildred.

A special thank-you to her daughter-in-law, Debbie, who went above and beyond as her caretaker for the last two years, never leaving her side.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Mildred’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery at a later date.
