Obituary of Murray Albert Estabrooks

It is with great sadness that the family of Murray Albert Estabrooks announces his passing on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the Moncton Hospital.  Murray passed away with his family by his side at the age of 83.

Born on October 8, 1939 in Mount View, NB, he was the son of the late Lloyd Eldon Estabrooks and Elsie Bernice (Wheaton).

Murray enjoyed collecting records and old movies, his old cars and working on them himself, as well as travelling. He loved music and even wrote his own song called “Westmorland County”.  Murray was always willing to help anyone if they needed a hand, and he kept in touch with numerous friends and their children. Every road trip he took you on was a learning experience. He enjoyed talking and had an excellent long-term memory and a lot of history will be lost without him here to share it. Murray will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Murray will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Teresa (Mike) Furler , Catharine (David) Estabrooks-Whitelaw and Kimberley (Adam) Tremmel; his brother, Eric (Wanda) Estabrooks; his sister, Julia (Robert) Lockwood; his sister-in-law, Marianna Estabrooks; his grandchildren, Christopher Estabrooks, Preston Estabrooks, Nathan Estabrooks, Rebekah Whitelaw, Rachel Whitelaw, Taylor Tremmel, Landon Tremmel and Destin Tremmel; his great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Demi-Leigh, Izabella and Aspen, as well as by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his soul mate, Gail Hay in 2014; his brother, David Estabrooks, as well as by his infant sister, Natalie Estabrooks.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visiting hours will take place at the funeral home, on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 from 1 pm until the time of the funeral service at 3 pm with Rev. Lloyd Bruce officiating. The burial will take place in the Four Corners Cemetery.

If so desired, donations in memory of Murray may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
