Obituary of Ruth (Coombs) Mitton

It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Mitton, announces her passing at the Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. Ruth passed away with her loving family by her side at the age of 77.   

Ruth was born in Dorchester, NB on August 23, 1945 and she was the daughter of the late Lina Henrietta (McPhee) and Frederick Lewis Charles Coombs.

Ruth enjoyed life to the fullest and she had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed knitting, camping and was a volunteer with the local Girl Guides of Canada groups for many years. Ruth always loved organizing meals, planning get togethers, baby and wedding showers. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Ken Mitton; her sisters, Audrey LeBlanc and Norma Estabrooks; her brother, Cedric “Ted” Coombs; her two grandchildren, Rayelle Paterson and Kali Paterson; her son-in-law, Dale Paterson; her brothers-in-law, Gary Mitton, Rod Mitton, Daryll Mitton and David Monkmon; her sister-in-law, Angie Sears, as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her daughter, Kenda Rae (Mitton) Paterson in 2015; her daughter in infancy; her sisters, Amy Cunningham and Ellen Monkman, as well as by her brothers-in-law, Lorne Mitton, Edgar Estabrooks, Ed Cunningham and Ray LeBlanc.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, Sackville (506) 364-8188. Visiting hours will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 1-3 pm.
