Obituary of Camille Joseph Cormier

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Camille Joseph Cormier, age 88, announces his passing on Friday, March 31, 2023 at the Moncton Hospital.

 

Born in Upper Sackville, NB on July 14, 1934, he was the son of the late Adolphe and Adelice Cormier. 

 

Camille was employed with the Department of Transportation for fifteen years as a snowplow operator, prior to his retirement. He was also employed with J.W. Baughan Transport as a tractor trailer driver. He was a Sackville Rod and Gun Club member, as well as a past member of the Sackville Lion’s Club.

 

Camille will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Joanne Cormier (Curtis Estabrooks); his sons, Donald (Gladys Smith) and Leopaul (Sheila) Cormier; his brother, Dennis (Vicki) Cormier; his sisters, Yvonne (Roger) Belliveau and Leona Smith; his two granddaughters, Laura and Katelyn; his two great-granddaughters, Sierra and Madison; his special niece, Denise (Ron) Wildeman, as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

 

Besides his parents, Camille was pre-deceased by his wife of over fifty years, Bernadette Mary Cormier in 2007; his siblings, Henri Cormier, Melos Cormier, Rita Cormier, Leon Cormier,  Kathy Cormier and  Amedee Cormier, as well as by his brother-in-law, David Smith.

 

Camille’s family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Foyer Saint Thomas in Memramcook, where he resided prior to his death and also to the staff at The Moncton Hospital Emergency Department and the Palliative Care floor for their care and compassion.

 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, Sackville (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Camille’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service.  A burial will take place at a later date, in the Holy Rosary Cemetery, Sackville.
