Obituary of Robert "Bob" Cann

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Cann on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the Drew Nursing Home in Sackville. Bob was 87 years old.

Born on July 6, 1935 in Fairfield, NB, he was the son of the late Josephine (Mitton) Harling and Cecil Harling.

Bob worked at Consumer Glass in Scoudouc, New Brunswick for approximately 28 years in the stockroom and purchasing department. He was a hard worker and enjoyed wood working and tinkering in his garage. He spent many years enjoying his cottage in the summer months in Tignish.

Bob was a sport enthusiast, and he loved the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. He coached many local softball (fastball) and hockey teams, leading them to many championships. Bob was inducted into the Sackville Sports Wall of Fame in 2008 as a key builder in Sackville for the sports of softball (fastball) and hockey.

Bob will be greatly missed by his sons, Ricky (Kandice) Cann and Darrell (Ronni Doucett) Cann; his daughter, Darlene Leblanc; his grandchildren, Angela, Bobby, Kayla, Courtney and Robb; his several great-grandchildren, as well as by his companion of more than 10 years, Mary Anne Crossman.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Drew Nursing Home and the Countryside Residence in Port Elgin for giving such wonderful care to Bob over the past few years.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home 89 Bridge Street, Sackville NB. In keeping with Bob’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. A small private graveside service will be held at a later date in the Spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob can be made to the IWK or to a charity of one’s choice. On-line condolences and sharing of memories may be forwarded to the family through our website www.campbellsfuneralhome.com or by visiting the funeral home Facebook page.
