Obituary of Deborah Ann (Haley) Jones

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah (Debbie) Ann Jones, 68, on Monday, January 23rd, 2023, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.

Debbie was born on September 25, 1954, in Minto, NB and she was the daughter of the late Charles and Shirley (Harding) Haley.

Besides her parents, Debbie was predeceased by her siblings, Harold, Wilfred, Edward, Robert, Roger, Frank, Charles Jr, Margaret, Shirley, as well as by an infant brother. She was also predeceased by her father-in-law, Douglas Jones and a very special great-aunt, Christine Turner.

Debbie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Michael Jones; her daughters, Angela (Jason) Thomas, Christina (Ben) Irving and Kerri (Travis) Lee; her granddaughters, Sierra, Charlotte and Brianna; her sisters, Arlene (Brian) Lines and Linda (Robert) Haley-Trenholm; her brothers, John (Linda) Haley and Floyd (Sharon) Haley, as well as by her mother-in-law, Dianne Jones. She will be missed by many special nieces, nephews and extended family whom she loved dearly.

The two things that Debbie loved most in this world were her family and camping down at The Shore. In her retirement, she rediscovered her love of camping and could often be found combing the beach for sea glass, roasting marshmallows with her grandkids and relaxing in the sun, watching the hummingbirds zip by. It is a place for family to gather and nothing gave her more joy than the moments they all got to spend there, together.

Debbie’s family would like to thank her healthcare team at The Dr. Sheldon H. Rubin Oncology Clinic at the Moncton Hospital, her family doctor, Dr. Graeme Stewart, Extra Mural for their outstanding at home support and everyone at the Sackville Memorial Hospital for going above and beyond to deliver wonderful care to Debbie and her family during this difficult time.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and the staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. Following Debbie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Please join her family for a visitation and celebration of life on Saturday, January 28th at 12:30pm with the family speaking at 2pm. Burial will take place at the Baie Verte Cemetery with her family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Debbie's name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Lung Association or to a charity of your choosing.
