Obituary of Doreen (Johnson) McAllister

It is with great sadness that the family of Emma Doreen (Johnson) McAllister, announces her passing at the Drew Nursing Home on Friday, November 25, 2022. Doreen passed away peacefully, with her son by her side, at the age of 94.

 

Born in Sackville, NB on November 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Emma Snowdon (Campbell) Johnson and John Stephen Johnson.

 

Doreen was a member of Trinity Anglican Church in Dorchester, NB.  She enjoyed travelling and she helped for many years at the Bell Inn Restaurant, always enjoying seeing the customers. The family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Drew Nursing home for their exceptional care. Doreen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

 

Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her son, David (Wayne); her sister, Pauline (Glenn) Ward; her two “adopted” sons, Wayne Jones and Richard Serre; her several nieces and nephews; her wonderful friend and neighbor, Rhoda Purvis, as well as by her longtime friend and travel companion, Jeannie Lowerison.

 

Besides her parents, Doreen was pre-deceased by her husband, David Randall McAllister in 1978; her daughter, Judith Doreen in 1972; her brothers, John, Carman, Jim and Robert, as well as by her sisters, Patricia and Mary.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville NB. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 11 am at Trinity Anglican Church, Dorchester, with Father Craig O’Brien officiating. Following the service, the burial will take place in the Westcock Cemetery. The family invites you to join them after the interment for a reception at Campbell’s Funeral Home.
