Obituary of Janet Geraldine (LeBlanc) Sears
It is with great sadness that the family of Janet Sears announces her passing on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, following an extended period of illness. Janet passed away at the age of 72.
Born on September 30, 1949 in Sackville, N.B. she was the daughter of Emilienne Anna (Richard) and the late Frederick Joseph LeBlanc.
Janet was an avid reader who also loved to cook, travel and tackle craft projects such as knitting a blanket for a lucky recipient. She especially enjoyed traveling to visit her daughter Jeannie and family, including her beloved grandsons Nicholas and Daniel, in California. Those trips to California were filled with much joy and laughter as she spent time with Nicholas and Daniel playing board games, reading to them, and perhaps whipping up a batch of her famous "Grammie's jam" to slather on top of hot-from-the-oven "Grammie's biscuits". Janet will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Janet will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Irvin Sears; her daughter, Jeannie Sears (Andrew Thomas Guzman); her grandsons, Nicholas James Guzman and Daniel Frederick Guzman; her mother, Emily LeBlanc; her sisters, Nancy Wheaton and Kathy (John) Gould, as well as by several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Janet was pre-deceased by her son, Eric Irvin Sears; her father, Frederick “Fred” LeBlanc, as well as by her brother-in-law, Eric Wheaton.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. E4L 3P1 (364-8188). A private graveside service will take place in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
If so desired, donations in memory of Janet may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada or to the charity of one’s choice.
