Obituary of Marion Jean (Smith) Day
It is with great sadness that the family of Marion Day announces her passing on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Moncton Hospital. Marion passed away at the age of 76 with her loving family by her side.
Born in Sackville, NB on January 14, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Leslie Charles Smith and Dorothy Violet (Tower). Marion was raised by Marven Goodwin and Pansy (Tower).
Marion was employed at the McAdam Mill Government Garage doing road flagging, at Tim Horton’s and Patterson’s Restaurant in Sackville and as a home care worker.
Marion will be lovingly remembered by her children, Belinda Day (Jeff) of Hamilton, Ontario, Arlie Day of Sackville, N.B. and Crystal (Mark) McLaughlin of St. Stephen, N.B.; her brothers and sisters, Leslie Jr. ‘Junior’ Smith, Betty Ward, Freddie (Donna) Smith, Carolyn (Dale) Patterson, Elaine Morice, Steven ‘Stevie’ (Wanda) Smith, Ruby (Donnie) Beal, William ‘Billy’ Smith, Gladys ‘Glady’ (Donald) Smith, Myrtle Bryden and Charlotte (Gary) Leblanc; her eight grandchildren, Kevin and Dylan Eggleton, Chad, Ashna, Taneesha and Kendrick McLaughlin, Nick Day and Colby Adams; her great-grandchildren, Conway Sode, Adalynn McLaughlin and Wyatt Eggleton, as well as by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Besides her parents, Marion was pre-deceased by her husband, Errol George Day; her oldest sister, Rachel Johnson; her youngest brother, Jeffrey Smith; her niece, Sabrina Patterson; her nephew, William Smith; her sisters-in-law, Shelley and Janice Smith, as well as by her brother-in-law, Thomas Ward.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Marion’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will take place in McAdam, N.B at the Rockland Cemetery at a later date.
