Obituary of Shane Garfield Herring

It with great sadness that the family of Shane Garfield Herring announces that he passed away on December 4, 2021, at the Georges L. Dumont Hospital following a brief illness.

Shane was born in Sackville, New Brunswick on August 15, 1964.  Shane was predeceased by his father, Louis Herring.

Shane is survived by his mother, Arlene Herring; his sisters, Linda Herring and Debi Hanley; his brothers, Mark Herring (Jennifer) and Marty Herring (Darla); his nieces, Jennifer Holmes, Kayla Hanley (Devon) and Emily Doucet (Luc); his nephews, Shamus Atkinson (Melanie), Cameron Holmes (Emily), Ryan Herring, Aidan Herring and Caleb Herring; cousins and special friends, Angela Olsen, Tammy Wall (Peter), Charla Fife (Rob), Gena Walton (Kevin), as well as by several grand-nieces and grand-nephews and many friends.

Shane loved getting together with family and friends and you would always know when he was in a room. He was always joking and trying to get a response out of everyone near him. Those on the receiving end of his jibes would either be laughing with him or making every attempt to get away from him.

Shane is and always will be greatly loved and missed by all those who loved him so very much.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. A private graveside service will be held at the Bayfield Cemetery later in the year, followed by a get-together for family and friends at the Cape Tormentine Legion, date to be announced.

If so desired, donations in memory of Shane may be made to the Cape Tormentine Legion or to a local children’s charity.
