Obituary of Judith Elaine Brownell (Nelson)

Judith Elaine Brownell (Nelson) of Sackville, NB passed away on February 27th at the Moncton City Hospital with her family at her side.

 

Born on November 14, 1944 in Amherst to Carl and Florence Nelson (Murray); she grew up in Pugwash, NS.

 

After graduating from Pugwash High School, she started working at the Bank of Nova Scotia in Pugwash and later in Campbellton. She and Keith moved to Bathurst, where they raised their family. Judie started working at RBC and transferred when the family moved to Sackville, NB in 1987. She kept busy after retirement volunteering with the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Canadian Cancer Society.

 

Her most treasured moments involved family gatherings, for which she loved cooking and baking everyone’s favourite foods. She and Keith enjoyed travelling around the back roads of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, visiting friends and family.

 

She will be deeply missed by her husband Keith of 56 years; her sons, Ken (Denise) and Scott (Patti); her granddaughters, Chelsea and Ashlyn; her brothers, Murray (Murna) and Peter (Wendy), as well as by many nieces and nephews.

 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother John Nelson.

 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Erin Campbell and staff of Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. A visitation will be held Saturday, March 5th from 2 to 4pm at Campbell’s Funeral Home in Sackville. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Masks are required and the family asks that anyone attending the visitation be fully vaccinated. We thank you for understanding.
