Condolences to Bayne and family, and to Heather’s community at the Drew for your loss. We feel blessed to have had such a wonderful friend and neighbour, and we will remember Heather for her captivating smile, her remarkable kindness and her sense of humour. Being with Heather was joyous. We treasure memories of lobster suppers in our gardens – which garden depended on the direction of the wind – fun conversations and even a few lunches in Paris. Bon courage to Bayne. – Margaret, Alex, David, Rachel & Mat

Our sincere condolences to Heather’s family, we we’re very saddened to hear of her passing.
Heather endeared herself to all who met her, that gentle kind inquisitive demeanour was her gift.
Have so many wonderful memories spent together with Heather during our time at the Drew. She would be the keenest participant in any & all activities organized, but most amazing was witnessing her relentless concern & interest in the well being of others. Heather would welcome & encourage those around her to participate and as a result played a very pivotal role in the lives of other residents with her continuous support for their well being.
Heather was a rare gem who could display courage and unbridled enthusiasm even in the face of the circumstances she was dealt.
She will be missed by so many of those who’s lives she touched, certainly ours.

Dear Bayne, the boys and I are so sorry for your loss and send our deepest sympathy. So many lovely memories stand out from the Lockwood days, where Heather was so well respected by all, so professional in her work. But the first memory that came to mind was one winter night when we tried in a convoy, you and Heather travelling with us, to get to management dinner party in Moncton despite a snowstorm. We may have all been young and foolish, but at least we had the common sense to pull over and make the decision to return to Sackville. But first we made a new plan, to gather what we had and have a potluck at our home. What I remember is how enthusiastic about the plan Heather was, volunteering the 2 mince meat pies she had ready for a family Christmas visit . Well that set the tone and we all found something that made a meal. I believe Kentucky Fried Chicken was open that night in town, and we found other dishes to accompany it all. Heather's laughter and pleasure were contagious and several of us had a wonderful evening despite the brutal weather. I think that spirit must have carried her through life, as I never saw Heather without a smile, and she never failed to ask about our "boys".
Thinking of you Bayne, and the many who who cared for her.

Bayne:
As you know, my memories of Heather go way back, to the time she was in charge of the placement office at Mount Allison, in 1972-73, in the basement of the old Student Centre. I remember popping my head in at lunch and joking with her. What a smile! What a great laugh! It always made my day.
She was, as they say, a class act, and she remained that throughout her life, even in the face of her struggle with MS.
We both send our love to you at this difficult time.

I think Billy Joel was right..."Only the good die young". I was deeply saddened to hear of my friend Heather's recent passing. Over the last 40+ years we have shared countless laughs, fond memories and mutual admiration for each other. In shouldering the "miserable burden of MS" Heather displayed the gift of uncommon grace in habitually exuding positivity, greeting people with her infectious smile and uplifting spirits with her laughter. She was also blessed with a razor sharp intellect and a deep sense of curiosity...two traits that combine to foster real personal growth. Sackville is a better place due to her decision to make it home. May she enjoy fair winds and following seas. - Andy Smith

In the few times I met her, during my stint in Sackville in the early 2000’s, she always had a smile on her face.
MS is a cruel disease. It sure sounds like Heather faced it with dignity, grace, and the support of tremendous care givers; including yourself.
May many great memories bring you comfort in the difficult days ahead.

Saddened to learn of Heather's passing, she was such a positive person. She seemed to delight in singing along with our family band when we played at the Drew, and knew all the words to whatever we played. Her hearty smile was contagious, and we enjoyed chatting with her after our shows there, and when we would occasionally see her out in the community - at Patterson's, for instance. Though her smile is gone, it will remain a fond memory.
Sending sincere condolences to her family.
