Obituary of Junior Phinney

It is with deep sadness that the family of Richard Bennett "Junior" Phinney, age 87, announces his passing on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Junior passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born in Midgic, NB on July 15, 1934, he was the son of the late Mildred Hicks and Richard Phinney.

Junior enjoyed travelling, trailering, camping, travelling to Alaska and back as well as making many trips to Florida. He loved playing cards and never passed up a good deal on a tractor.

Junior will be lovingly remembered by his soulmate, Edna Brewster; his children, Debbie (Gary) Colwell, Delores (Robert) Atkinson, Allen Phinney, Bonnie (John) Brownell and Kathy (David) Atkinson; his 17 grandchildren; his 36 great-grandchildren, as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his daughter, Donna Johnson; his son, Richard Phinney Jr. (the third); his granddaughter, Rhonda Lannigan; his siblings, Millicent Barnes, Alvin Phinney and Alden Phinney; the mother of his children, Kathleen (Wood), as well as by his second partner, Barbara Atkinson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family viewing will take place and a graveside service will take place in the spring in the Midgic Cemetery, with details to be announced.
