Obituary of Cheryl Jean (Crosthwaite) Read

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Cheryl Read on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital at the age of 67.

 

Born in Dorchester, NB on July 10, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Douglas Edgar Trenholm and Mildred Marion (Ammison).

 

Cheryl was employed at the Sackville Memorial Hospital from 1978 until her retirement in 2015. She loved animals and was always willing to lend a hand if someone needed help. She was an amazing cook, especially her Chinese food. Cheryl liked to garden in her flower beds, enjoyed butterflies, sewing and camping.  She will be greatly missed by her family and all of those who knew and loved her.

 

Cheryl will be lovingly remembered by her son, Walter Lee Read (Alana Best); her daughter, Jennifer Read (Ashley Blacklock); her granddaughters, Mackynlee and Laikynn; her sisters, Sandra Goguen, Harriett Coombs, Wanda  (Christopher) Henwood and Carrie (Stuart) Allen; her brothers, Wayne “Snooky” (Patsy) Crosthwaite, Raymond Crosthwaite, Vernon Crosthwaite, Stephen (Carrie) Crosthwaite, Walter “Bub” (Karen) Crosthwaite and Kevin (Val) Trenholm; her sister-in-law, Iona, as well as by many nieces and nephews.

 

Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brother, Douglas “Buddy” Crosthwaite; her brother-in-law, George Coombs; her maternal grandparents, Walter Ammison and Grace (Card), as well as by her fraternal grandparents, Edgar Trenholm and Emma (Lamey).

 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville NB (506)364-8188. In keeping with Cheryl’s wishes, cremation has taken place. In light of the current situation with COVID-19, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service at this time.  A celebration of Cheryl’s life will take place at a later date with the details to be announced.

 

If so desired, memorial donations in memory of Cheryl may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses or to the charity of one’s choice.
