Norma Sears was an important part of my younger life - she always had a hug, a cookie, or let me keep her company while planting the garden at the top of the hill - I wanted to be a mum like her. Paula will not remember me, Janet was a friend a long, long time ago. My thoughts are with you all.
The Sears family, and household, will always hold fond memories to me - I am glad I once told Norma how important she was to me.
I once was - Mary Jane Milner - now Jane Rolfe - Dad passed last evening and I was looking for his obit and Norma came to me.
Thanks for the comfort. Hugs to all. Jane

Dear Wallie and family,
I was one of the church “newcomers” who Norma greeted warmly when I attended the Sackville United Church on my trips home. I knew walking in the door I would see Norma with a huge smile on her face, waving wildly, and patting the seat cushion for me to join my rightful place beside her. I know my Sackville church services will never be the same without her warm gentle spirit there.
Norma was a true classy and unselfish woman. In her final weeks, she was more concerned with other people’s health than her own.
Norma’s passing is a huge lose to anyone who knew her.
Arliss from Vancouver

Dear Wallie and family;
What a wonderful lady that our family had the privilege of meeting and having our paths cross back in 1999. We have shared some special times over the years from volunteering at church suppers; UCW; Sunday school picnics; hockey games; discussing baking tips; and sharing words of wisdom and a laugh. You’ve both been wonderful family friends.
Thinking of you on Monday.
Rest In Peace Norma ❤️

Wallie, Janet and Paula,
Our sincere condolences from Janine and I. We both admired Norma's choices to battle recent illnesses rather than succumb to harsh treatments that drain quality of life. As we became neighbors again recently, occasionally when you and Norma were driving by and I was working outside, the car stopped, window rolled down and Norm would yell out " you're putting that paint on upside down"! Good humor, a kind person, always inviting to visit.

I'm deeply saddened over Norma's death and my heart goes out to my Canadian cousins. Norma was one of the strongest women I've ever met and she made a profound impact of my life. She made me want to be a better person. She impressed on me to not be wasteful whether it was something simple like cleaning strawberries or larger like my own potential. She was loving, kind, caring, tough, and funny. Wallie has lost the love of his life, Paula & Janet their mother and friend. She will never really be gone as she touched so many lives just like mine and inspired countless people, young and old, to do their best. I will always love and remember you. We are thinking of Wallie and girls as we read the sad news of Norma's passing. When we lived across the street there was no end of fun and laughter. On Friday after work we would drive in our driveway only to look across the street and see a wine glass being held out the door which meant " come over - its wine o'clock". And one day when we had been out on our motorcycle and arrived home the phone rang, I picked it up , no hello but Norma saying " thank God you're home, I was worried sick with you two on that damn motorcycle!". What a girl, what a neighbour, what a blessing to have known her. Rest well Norma, you deserve it - you had a life and lived it well. Much love and with great affection. Gordie and Sue Smith.
