Obituary of Joan Ann Dowe

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Ann Dowe of Sackville, New Brunswick, who passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at the age of 58.

Born in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia on November 27, 1962, she was the daughter of Mildred Holmes and the late Roy Dowe.

When Joan put her mind to do something, she made it happen. For many years, Joan worked as a hairdresser, and single handily opened her own restaurant in Sackville in 1995 - “Mums Restaurant”. Following these years, Joan succeeded at opening as well as operating her own Special Care home, starting with one client, and working her way up to having a 10 bed Special Care Home. She always treated her clients as family and would give the shirt off of her back for anyone who needed it. Joan loved travelling and she had friends all over the world. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her, and she loved them unconditionally. She will be truly missed by the countless number of people she has touched throughout her life and she will never be forgotten. Inspirations are never forgotten.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years Kevin F Lee; her son, Michael Dowe and her daughter, Kristen LeBlanc; her two step-sons, Fred & Travis Lee; her sister, Sally; her brother, Gary; her grandchildren, Braeden, Maddex, Camron, Calie, Marlee and Raina, as well as by her step-granddaughters, Sierra, Brianna and Jurny.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188.

We would now like to announce Joan’s extended graveside service, which will take place at the Four Corners Cemetery in Middle Sackville, NB, on Sunday, September 12th at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Mark Reece officiating.
