Henry was an institution from my childhood. We would visit with him every summer when we were at the shore. Always joking, always smiling.
Two memories in particular I have of Henry. One was what a character he looked like with his brown tanned face and arms, and stark white legs as he tarred his lobster traps in his yard. The second was much later, when I was grown and had children of my own. Henry came to visit us at what had been my Mother’s cottage (and my grandmother’s before her). He had baked a cake for us - I didn’t even know that Henry baked!!! It was a delicious mocha cake with a boiled icing. And was such a special memory for us that we made up a song about it for the kids and still talk about that visit to this day.
Your good humour and love will be missed, Henry. My most sincere condolences to family and friends.

There are so many memories of Uncle Henry! Everyone brings a smile to my face. Like the time he called me while I was visiting Mom and Dad during the summer. I think I was living in Newfoundland at the time. When I picked up the phone it seemed like there wasn’t anyone there, so... I hung up! The phone rang again and the comment was “what did you hang up on me for?” I told him next time he should say “hi” a little more quickly.
My sincerest condolences to Karlene and family; Kevin and family; Geraldine and family and to his partner Patricia. He’s definitely a legend and will be truly missed. Love to all.

He was the greatest growing up. He use to tell me that Oh Henry chocolate bars were named after him, cause of all the nuts in his head lol I regret not keeping in touch more. He was loved by so many and a small piece of my heart since I was a child will always be there for him.

Sending our condolences to all of the family. It is a sad time, may your memories that are bringing tears to your eyes today become your source of comfort in the hours, days, weeks and months ahead. Uncle Henry will always be with you, just not as we remember him. He may appear as a gull swooning over a boat, an owl hooting in the night, a rain drop falling gently against the window or an eagle soaring high. Take care of yourselves, sending our hugs, love and prayers. Karen & Ian
