Obituary of Robert Harvey Fillmore

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Harvey Fillmore of Point de Bute, NB, at the Westford Nursing Home where he has resided for the past year. Bob passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at the age of 78. Born on June 24, 1941 in Sackville, NB, he was the son of the late Mildred (Sears) and George Fillmore. Born in Sackville and raised in Tidnish, he worked at various jobs in his early years and for RCI for 31 years as a mechanical rigger. Bob loved spending time at his camp in Baie Verte, where he enjoyed hunting, gardening and tapping trees to make maple syrup. He collected and fixed up antique machinery and spent his summers at his cottage at Mason’s Beach. Bob loved animals and music, especially blue grass. He was a jack of all trades, always helping everyone. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dinah Moir; his sons, Dana T. (Samantha) Fillmore, Andrew N. (Christina) Fillmore and Anthony P. Fillmore; his step-sons, Todd Goodwin and Noel (Maureen) Goodwin; his brothers and sisters, Marie (late Wm) MacGlashan, George (Naureen) Mason, Ernest (Cavelle) Mason and Linda (Owen) Letcher; his grandchildren, Ashley, Bryanna, Jaden, Shyla, Benjamin and Nicholas, as well as by several nieces and nephews. Bob was pre-deceased by his parents, Garnet and Freda (White) Mason; his two brothers, Roy Fillmore and John Mason, as well as by his sister, Firth Sauveur. The family would like to thank the extramural girls and the staff at the Westford, who gave such kindness and caring to Bob. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. Honouring the current provincial guidelines, Bob’s memorial service will take place at a later date, with the details to be announced. If so desired, donations in memory of Bob may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
