To Mike, Dianna, Family Members & Friends,
The members of the Canadian Forces Supplementary Radio (SUPRAD) System Oldtimers Association regret that we just heard about Gary's passing. It was one of our Association Life Members, Les Lindstrom, who advised us of Gary's passing on the 19th of June, 2019. Those who served with Gary, during his distinguished twenty year career in the Royal Canadian Navy will forever remember all of the enjoyable times that were shared. Please know that as members of your extended military family, it grieves us that Gary is no longer with us. Even though it has been a few years since your Dad's passing, you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Gary had a great work ethic that many in the community appreciated and emulate. It is encouraging to us all to see that he also passed on this ethic to his children. He was a good friend and neighbour to all those on the Guard Row.

Gary was the person I was always happy to see! Because I used to have older cars that needed repair, Gary was my go to mechanic!
I would get into the pit with him... he would explain the workings of my vehicle to me, and he never seemed to mind the company! If I was lucky, he would give me a little nugget on how he saw life.. and he was indeed a thoughtful person. How much? I know Gary could have charged more for his work at times, but I believe he always considered a person’s financial situation into his car repair bills. A naturally good hearted person who never considered doing it for any other reason accept he thought it was the right thing!
People like Gary come along far less often than they should,... and leave far too soon .
Rest In Peace , Clarence

Dianna/ Mike,
It is amazing how someone you have not seen for years, and you hear of them passing, a flood of memories come back to mind!
I loved and respected both of your parents, and it is sad to hear of your dad’s passing now.
As a kid, he always plugged away at his work but never made me feel like I was “in the way”. As well I know that he was one of the fairest mechanics I’ve ever known.
I pray for peace and comfort at this time for both of you and your families. T

So sorry for your loss Mike, Sue and Dianna. I will never forget Uncle Gary. One of my favorite memories will always be of sitting in the living room with him while he told me some of his "navy days"stories. I always enjoyed hearing them.
