Kathleen Stone

Obituary of Kathleen Marie Stone

Kathleen Marie Stone, 59, of Sackville, NB

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, family member and friend.

Born in Truro, NS, Kathy was the daughter of the late Charles Cecil Stone and Mildred Pauline (Davis) Stone and the sister of the late William Stone.

Kathy passed quietly on March 8, 2019 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Bruce (Melissa) Clark and Nicholas (Amy) Clark; her two daughters, Angela (Scott) Knight and Katelyn (Jordan) Clark; her five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her sisters, Evelyn Miller, Sally (Kevin) MacLellan, Patricia Stone, Verna (Jack) Gibson and Mildred (Peter) Luff; her brother, Charles (Sheila) Stone, as well as by many nephews and nieces.

Kathy worked at various jobs over the years, her favourite being with Seagull Pewter.  She always wanted to travel out west to work, which she was very happy to have done.

Kathy enjoyed knitting for her family and taught many others to knit but once she learned to crochet there wasn’t anything she couldn’t make. Although Kathy was very crafty, she also loved being outside and going fishing, especially deep-sea fishing. She absolutely loved her little dog Sassy.

So, in the words of Abraham Lincoln, “And in the end it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.”

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188.  In keeping with Kathleen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service for her family will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kathleen may be made to the Canadian Lung Association, Canadian Diabetes Association or to the charity of one’s choice. On-line condolences and sharing of memories may be forwarded to the family through our website www.campbellsfuneralhome.com or by visiting the funeral home Facebook page.
