Our Condolences to Edward, Diana, Jonathan, and Marienna,
Please accept our Deepest Sympathy on the passing of your mother. I was so happy to give Joan a big hug when we saw you and Edward with her at Patterson's Restaurant in September. She was a fantastic lady with a positive outlook on life that I so admired. I have many fond memories to recollect upon.
This weekend we will be away and unfortunately, not be able to attend your mother's Memorial Service. However, I will be thinking of you all on Saturday.
Best Regards,
Dan and Ann Doncaster

The obituary is a beautiful and touching tribute to a life so wonderfully lived. We were the beneficiaries of her legendary hospitality countless times (always "fed and watered"!) and she would make anyone feel at home the instant they walked in her door. She never placed herself at the head of the queue and was always genuinely delighted at the successes of others, especially her kids and grandkids. She had much to celebrate. Your loss is our loss is everyone's loss. Big hugs to everyone. Love Brendan and Cindy

Diana, Edward, Jonathan, and Marienna:
I am so sorry to hear about your mother. She was such a warm and welcoming presence when I spent considerable time at your home in Sackville and in Musquodoboit when we were growing up. She was a lively, interesting woman with a zest for life and a deep love for her family. My thoughts are with you all and your families. I know that you have many wonderful memories that will help during this difficult time.

Diana, Edward, Jonathan and Marienna: I was sad when I heard of Joan's passing as it wasn't too long ago I had seen her at the Foodland. I have many fond childhood memories of her, especially the time I was invited to Musquodoboit for the weekend and she ended up having to drive me back home after getting homesick.. She was a strong willed lady, and an inspiration for us all... thinking of you!! Angie

My condolences to Joan's family ... I got to know her through playing Bridge and through the Sackville Art Association, after I moved back home to Sackville 7 years ago ... I knew her to be a fine lady, an astute card player, very talented artistically, and never afraid to voice her opinion ☺ ... I know she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

I’m so sorry to hear of Joan’s passing. Gma-Nicky always had an open door and time for everyone. I have so many memories of Rookie Dinners, Roommate Dinners, and just regular visits to spend time and chat. She was an adopted grandmother to many, and I’m honoured to have memories with such an amazing woman. Her memory will always live on in those who loved her and in the lives of those who were lucky enough to know her. Sending so much love, Pamela
