Obituary of Hugh David Urquhart
Point de Bute, N.B.-It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Hugh Urquhart on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Moncton Hospital. Hugh passed away at the age of 70, with his loving family by his side.
Born on October 16, 1947 in Sackville, N.B., he was the son of the late Catherine Muirhead (Smith) and Gerald Glyn Urquhart.
Hugh was a people person and always liked going to the Big Stop in Aulac, spending time with others talking and telling stories. He was interested in genealogy, going to car shows to see the vintage cars and he also enjoyed watching Nascar races with his daughter. Most of all, Hugh was an avid wood-worker and was well known for his birdhouses and other handmade items. He loved going to the markets on the weekends to sell his products and to socialize with the many folks he would meet there.
Hugh will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Susan (Armstrong) Urquhart of Point de Bute, N.B.; his children, Dawn Ellen Urquhart of Point de Bute, N.B. and Daniel Malcolm Urquhart of Moncton, N.B., as well as by his sister, Carine Anne Urquhart of Dartmouth, N.S.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188.
