Obituary of Muriel Edith Toye
It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Muriel Edith Toye, at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the age of 77.
Born on April 4, 1940 in Amherst, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Greta (Card) and Murlin McWhirter.
Muriel was a Canadian Armed Forces Veteran, having served with the Signal Corps in Ottawa, Ontario. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Fort Monckton Chapter and a volunteer with Cumberland Hospice. Muriel enjoyed playing cards, socializing with her many friends, was an avid crafter and was always very generous with her creations, sharing them with others.
Muriel will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kimberly Aurora Toye of Shemogue, N.B.; her son, Daniel Edward Toye of Petawawa, Ontario, as well as by her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Besides her parents, Muriel was pre-deceased by her husband, Jack Toye in 2010; her two sons, Murlin Toye in 2007 and Christopher Toye in 2015, as well as by her grandson in infancy in 1987.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Muriel’s family invites you to join them for a time of visitation to celebrate her life, on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 2-4 pm at Campbell’s Funeral Home. The burial will take place in the Dorchester Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Muriel may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cumberland Hospice Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
