I did not know Danny Richard, the man, but I remember well Danny Richard, the boy. He worked on my grandfather's farm in the summers when we were teenagers. My sister and I teased him a great deal, but he was kind and patient. He saved my dog's life once. The dog had a losing encounter with a porcupine and his nose and mouth were full of quills. My grandfather said he would call a neighbor to shoot him, but Danny was not having that. He tied the dog up and I helped to hold him while Danny pulled out all the quills he could reach, then cut off the ones that were too far inside the mouth to be pulled. The dog yelped and flinched but he did not bite. He spent three days under the porch without coming out, but he lived. In reading the obituary Danny obviously wrote himself, I get the feeling that he had a good life and was happy with his family and his circumstances. I'm glad that was the case.

Soory to hear of Danny's passing. I worked with Danny for a number of years and was always amazed on his ability to get along with everyone. Danny always contributed to a very positive work environment that was also full of fun. A quote that I will always remember from Danny was "Chapter Last".

I have known Danny for years and was glad to call him my friend. I still have a stained glass light that he made for my daughter when she was very young. I will always treasure it. It is beautiful...just like Danny was in life. We had the pleasure of biking and camping with him and Doreen and he will be sadly missed. So sorry to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace now.

I was very saddened to learn of Danny's passing. I still remember the many times we would end up at your home on Richardson Street to see what new stained glass Danny had made.
