Obituary of Daryl William Phinney
It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Daryl William Phinney, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Saturday, December 10, 2016. Daryl passed away at the age of 69, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on November 28, 1947 in Sackville, N.B., he was the son of Eileen (Beal) Phinney and the late William J. Phinney.
Daryl was a former volunteer fireman with the Sackville Fire Department and was employed with the Town Of Sackville for many years. He always had a great interest in most sports and when he was younger he particularly enjoyed playing hockey and softball. Fishing in his boat was also a favorite past time.
Daryl will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Henrica (Ricky) Phinney; his son, Dion Phinney of Sackville, N.B.; his daughter, JoAnn (Scott) Haughn of St. Andrews, N.B.; his mother, Eileen (Beal) Phinney; his brothers, Ronnie (Loretta) Phinney of Ontario, Allan (Debbie) Phinney of Sackville, N.B. and Billy (Janice) Phinney of Sackville, N.B. as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he was pre-deceased by his brother, Walter Beal.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Daryl’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. The burial will take place in the spring at the Sackville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Daryl may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the charity of one’s choice.
